We leave the Lyon region at the end of the afternoon, we go through Bourg-en-bresse, Besançon, Mulhouse, and go to Germany where we will spend the night on a motorway service area.
Leaving Freiburg we go through Munich, Vienna.
We wanted to sleep in Gyor but there is a party and parking is impossible, we find a possibility on the banks of the Danube in GONUY, where we will spend an excellent night.
We traveled just under 1800 km to reach our first bivouac in Hungary.
First day in Hungary we visit Komaron and cross the bridge over the Danube to reach Komarno in Slovakia, we then do a few kilometers to cross the Danube again, bridges are rare and once again in Hungary we visit the town of Esztergom or we appreciate the cleanliness and civility of the Hungarians.
We visit the fortress of Visegrad.
We bivouac in the village of Felsotold located about ten kilometers from Holloko, the place is rural and quiet.
This morning we visit the museum village of Holloko, there are very few people early in the morning.
We visit the city of Eger where, as everywhere in Hungary, there is a central pedestrian street, we have our first meal at the restaurant where we eat a very good meal, certainly very hearty, as often in Hungary.
In the evening we reach the city of Tokaj where we park in a parking lot, in the evening stroll in town after a small storm in the late afternoon.
We go through Debrecen and Hortobagy, we are disappointed with Hortobagy there is no activity and no one despite the reputation of this place.
We decide to continue our itinerary and join the shores of Lake Tisza in the village of Poroszla on an area (found on park4night) at the foot of a church, the place is quiet, we are alone as usual.
We leave our bivouac to arrive early in Budapest, we easily find the area which is certainly expensive (20€) but ideally located near the metro, less than 10 minutes on foot after crossing the shopping halls.
We visit Budapest, we take a break at the restaurant, we join the CC late afternoon to rest.
In the evening we return to Budapest to enjoy a night view from the Sinners Bastion.
The view is sublime from this belvedere.
This morning we finish our visit of Budapest.
At the beginning of the afternoon we will enjoy the thermal baths of Szechenyi, an exceptional place (we spent more than 3 hours there).
For the night we stop at the edge of a lake in Velence.
We visit Szekesfehervar the city is still as pleasant as most Hungarian cities.
We reach Lake Balaton, we spend the afternoon at the beach, on the other hand the car parks are free but access to the beaches of the lake is paying.
We spend the night in a shaded car park in Blatonfured.
Beach day on the banks of the Balaton. We spend the night in a parking lot in Balatongyorok, with a late evening thunderstorm.
We visit the city of Heviz and the thermal baths, despite uncertain weather we will bathe in the lake with warm highs we stay there for a large part of the morning because we appreciate the hot water baths of Hungary.
At the edge of the Balaton we have lunch in a guinguette, as usual we have a hearty lunch.
NWe change banks of the Balaton and spend the night in Siofok, a very lively and festive town, but we will spend a quiet night there. (In a parking lot as throughout our Hungarian journey).
Sunday 25 and Monday 26 June:
We visit the city of paprika Kalosca but the city is very quiet and there is very little to see except the cathedral. We spend one last night in Hungary by the Danube in Mohacs.
The next day we will have our last Hungarian meal in Pecs.
On the 26th we go to Bosnia-herzegovina where we take the opportunity to fill up, because diesel is at the price of 1.20€, so we will do the maximum course given the low prices
From Tuesday June 27th to Wednesday July 5th:
To finish our vacation we decide to spend the remaining days in Croatia on the peninsula of Peljesac in Viganj.
We have known this place for a few years and we still appreciate it as much.
Admittedly, this campsite is a bit expensive at €26, but the cheapest in the sector and for Croatia in general.
We like this one for its wild camping side. On the other hand, we are experiencing a violent storm.
Thursday 6 and Friday 7 July:
The remaining 2 days we will spend in Italy with a stop in a village near Lake Garda at Castelnuovo di garda.
We will be back on the night of July 7.
We stayed for 22 nights, we did 13 nights in a wild bivouac, 1 night in a CC area and 8 nights camping.
In Hungary the wild bivouac poses no problem, moreover the places are numerous and easy to find.
Camping nights concerns Croatia due to the ban on wild camping.
We traveled 5110 kilometers.
We appreciated the cleanliness of Hungary and the Hungarian way of life.
Even if the places to visit are not very numerous, the cities are very beautiful, very clean and relaxing with a feeling of security.
Budapest is a very beautiful capital not to be missed with very beautiful monuments, do not miss the thermal baths in Budapest and other places.
Cost of living lower than in France.
In all the countries crossed the fuel is cheaper than in France.
