After the last two years of the COVID pandemic where travel was impossible or even prohibited, here we are in 2022 where we can finally travel again, we choose at the last moment a nearby destination, sunny with landscapes and historical places to discover.
We take off from Paris, and after 5h30 flight we land at Luxor airport it is 1h00 in the morning, we join our boat on the Nile.
On this first day we begin our visit with the temple of Karnak, a temple built by several Pharaohs between 2200 and 360 BC. J.-C., the temple of Karnak lodges the large temple of Amon, other small temples and sanctuaries as well as the large crowned lake. Hatshepsut, Seti I, Ramses II and Ramses III are the most important Pharaohs who participated in its construction.

After this first day of visit we join our boat and begin navigation to reach the city of Edfu in the night.
Today at the beginning of the day we visit the temple of Horus located in Edfu, the most spectacular and the ballet of horse-drawn carriages to reach the temple, an indescribable Capernaum in a city just as anarchic.
The Temple of Horus is an Egyptian temple located in Edfu (Behdet, Apollinopolis) on the left bank of the Nile between Aswan and Luxor, 105 km south of the latter.
Dedicated to the cult of Horus, it is the largest temple of the Lagide dynasty and the second most important sanctuary in Egypt after Karnak. Built between -237 and -57, under the Lagide or Ptolemaic dynasty, it is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt.

In the early evening we visit the temple of Kombo Ombo
The temple of Sobek and Haroëris located in Kôm Ombo, the ancient Nubit, is the Egyptian temple dedicated to the worship of the gods Sobek and Haroëris.
Then we resume navigation to reach the city of Aswan in the night.
Visit the Philae Temple in Aswan, this temple was moved during the creation of the Aswan Dam.
This temple is reached after 10 minutes of navigation in a small boat.
The temple was erected by the Lagid rulers (Hellenistic dynasty, 332-30 BCE) on an earlier sanctuary, believed to be the work of Ahmose II (Amasis, 570-526 BCE), pharaoh of the 26th dynasty whose name is attested on numerous reused blocks. Nectanebo I, Pharaoh of the XXXth Dynasty, who reigned from 380 to 362 BC, had an elegant pavilion built around 370, at the southern tip of the island.

A balloon flight is proposed to us and we decide to opt for this flight over the surroundings of Luxor and its historical sites. The weather is superb at this very early hour.
We got up at 4 am to be able to enjoy this extraordinary show.
