For this summer 2019 we want to discover southern Italy and especially the regions of Calabria and Puglia.
For this first night stop we stop at Bolsena at the edge of a lake in a parking lot.

After leaving Bolsena we continue our descent to the south with Naples as our first objective.
We did not want to reach Naples in the evening given the prohibitive price of the Naples area.
We stop ten kilometers away in the Santa Capra Vetere area (free and quiet area)

First day of visit to Naples, the Spanish quarter, the district of Christmas cribs and stands of football supporters.
Continuation of the visit of Naples with its culinary specialties starting with the fried pizza (delicious but caloric because it consists in making a calzone cooked in the frying) Italian charcuterie the granites the brioches the ice creams etc ........ .
Last day in Naples with a visit to the San Martino district with the giant crib and view of Vesuvius, it should be noted that the Naples area is perfectly located close to transport and certainly kept a little expensive (See section our parking lots).

This morning we leave Naples to visit Pompeii the site is very beautiful but the oppressive heat and too many people
We continue our descent to the south, we approach Matera (our next stop) the region is desert, few villages and we did not want to arrive this evening in Matera, we find a parking lot in the middle of nature it is huge but we are alone , we will have a great night there

Today we arrive in Matera, there are many areas for motorhome but many of them are quite far from the center, we prefer the covered parking in the city center reserved for motorhome, we are right in the center (ideal for visiting ).
We visit this timeless city at the end of the afternoon. Rare thing in Italy this city is very clean which is the case in the very tourist places

We are lucky because it is the last day of a party where the whole city of Matera is illuminated, it is magical and the city is very lively, great evening.
After this visit we take a break by the sea at Rocca Imperiale (there are many possibilities for bivouacs in this region) the next day we find ourselves in tropéa "le St tropez" de la Calabre, fortunately we are at the beginning of July and the tourists are not yet too numerous, the most difficult is the narrowness of the roads and especially the distance to exit this promontory.

We are approaching from the south, there are fewer and fewer people and there are many parking possibilities, as here in the wilderness in Nicotera or in the Ferruzzano area.

A little taste of culinary specialties starting with a Spritz of cold cuts, pasta and cheese.
We always find idyllic places to spend the night in Lido Cantazarro and Ciro (of course, as in Ciro, you have to search for access because between the road and the beach there is the railway line and many passages are at limited height. ).

We arrive in Puglia and there the parking becomes complicated, much less possibilities and more people, we find a beach restaurant that accepts motorhomes for free, but given the reception we had reserved we had dinner there and everything was correct (in addition rainy day and evening).

Before leaving for Italy we had taken the Green Stop subscription (a kind of France Passion less well) we have already used it twice during this trip but without conviction, it still helped us out for the night.
We use this formula again in Crispiano about twenty kilometers from Alberobello, we are welcomed in a splendid Masseria, moreover the owner offered us breakfast the next morning. An exceptional welcome, multi-line text

Today visit Alberobello and its Trulli certainly touristy with a lot of people but place to see.
We arrive at the end of our Journey we will spend our last two in Italy with a stop in a camping area by the sea, on the other hand no beach but total rest, the second by the beach in a seaside resort not very touristy, we are 2 motorhomes. All we have to do is return for the remaining 2 days.
