In this month of January we wanted to find sun and heavenly beaches, we found both on the island of Zanzibar, an island of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean.
The island is not very big and few visit them, the places to see are the capital Stone Town and the paradisiacal beaches of the North, Here are some pictures of the capital, with the old slave market and its monument, the typical African market,
the old town and its famous gates.
As everywhere in Africa it is difficult, if not impossible, to walk alone due to the insistence of many inhabitants to sell us or show us something.
Pictures of the beach and our hotel "Le Waridi".
The island is mostly Muslim, from their youngest age the young girls are veiled, but the veils are colored and are part of the colorful charm of this place.
The northern beaches the first Nungwi, deserted and little frequented and the second Kendwa bordered by many tourist complexes with new hotels under construction.
All the island's beaches are bordered by exceptionally white sand.
To end our stay, the hotel organizes a visit to the neighboring village, we are happy to visit the school, we note the lack of means but the joy of its children is a pleasure to see, we should be inspired by their joy of living .
