ROMA 2012
As we often try for the extended weekend in May to visit a nearby country, in 2012 we opt for Rome:
We leave Lyon at the end of the day after work, we spend the night in the Briançon area, we decided to go through the Mongenévre pass.
The next day we leave for Rome where we arrive at the end of the day at the area of:

Via Casilina 700, Centro Vendita LGP, 00177 ROMA (RM)

Perfect welcome, the tram passes in front of the entrance and drops us off in the center of Rome in about half an hour.
We spend 3 nights, we visit The Vatican, the Colosseum, the Trevi fountain, the piazza navona etc ... and we enjoy the atmosphere of this superb capital under a beautiful sun.

Going up we visit the wonderful city of Florence, we spend the night in a Tuscan village called Vinci (Village where the famous Leonardo was born) area in the countryside surrounded by olive groves.
The next day to end our Italian journey we visit Pisa and its famous tower (Alas the rain joins us).
In summary Italy is a very welcoming country for Motorhome, parking is very easy there, the sites are very numerous, the choice of towns, villages, monuments etc ... to visit is considerable.
